We recommend sport-boats or yachts with an IRC rating between 0.9 – 1.1, however please contact us if your rating is just out side of this. In previous years, the regatta has comprised of two classes, the class splits will be determined based on the entries received.
What is the regatta format?
Friday evening includes the optional (but recommended) briefing at Hamble River Sailing Club (HRSC). We intend to run 6 races (subject to weather) under the management of HRSC race committee over the weekend. Our famous frocks and flip-flops party is the not-to-be-missed highlight of Saturday evening!
Is registration the same as entry?
No, at this stage registration provides the organisers with an expression of interest. This helps us to plan the event and asses the likely class splits. By registering you are not commited to entering. Equally, once registered, you will still need to enter later (don’t worry – we’ll remind you!)
What does entry include?
In addition to race participation throughout the regatta enry includes a Friday evening race and weather briefing (with nibbles), a Sunday afternoon prize-giving and a goodie-bag for each entry.
Where do I park my boat?
Hamble River offers multiple berthing options. Unfortunately berthing isn’t included in the entry fee, but please contact one of the many local marinas if you need berthing.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Hamble is easily accessed by road (M27 exit 8) or regular high-speed trains from London Waterloo to Southampton (or Southampton Airport Parkway) which is just a short taxi hop away. There are several pay & display carparks close to the marina, or free of charge street parking a short walk away.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
